Stock market trading training

Trading for the first time can be very daunting and whilst most trading platforms have great training videos and examples, there was a need for a game based approach to introduce users into trading in a fun and safe way by playing for months not using real money, wining prizes and comparing progress against others. We felt that this was a great opportunity for a cloud platform proof of concept.

As this was to be a proof of concept we decided to build a Microsoft only cloud platform solution to validate key technologies within the Microsoft stack.

The cloud platform was a web only implementation and provided players with a range of stocks from multiple stock exchanges and allowed them to buy/sell and be ranked against each other on a monthly leaderboard with prizes for the great profit made for the month.

The concept was a great success and helped us gain first hand experience of the effort and processes required to build, maintain and support a commercial cloud offering over a long period of time.
