Pathology Lab Assessment Platform

A pathology lab assessment platform delivering greater control, consistency, and visibility across practical exam workflows.

The Challenge for University of Sydney School of Medicine

The University of Sydney needed a more reliable and scalable way to manage practical exam delivery across multiple venues, student cohorts, and assessment formats. Coordinating assessment setup, session scheduling, student allocation, live exam oversight, and results handling through fragmented or manual processes created operational pressure for staff and increased the risk of inconsistency on exam day. The requirement was not simply for a digital exam tool, but for a more connected platform that could support the end-to-end assessment workflow with greater control, visibility, and confidence at scale.

The Solution

iMSX developed MedMAP as a purpose-built digital assessment platform that brought together the core workflow areas needed to run structured practical exams more effectively. Combining a tablet-based student exam experience with a web-based administration environment, the solution created a more connected approach to assessment setup, scheduling, cohort coordination, live exam delivery, and results handling within one operational framework. Designed for controlled exam conditions and high-volume academic use, MedMAP gave the University a more scalable and enterprise-grade way to deliver assessments with improved consistency, stronger oversight, and a more streamlined experience for both staff and students.
